The Retirement of a Legend

While it may make a comeback someday as a “classic”, (Probably not) the 811 Walking shoe has been discontinued and replaced by the 812 Walking model.  A staple in the New Balance line for many years, the 811 has been a very popular model with New Balance customers at our stores and beyond. Like all good things, the 811 has stepped aside for the new and improved 812 model which arrived in our stores this month.

So far the 812 has had a very positive response from new customers of the line and former wearers of the 811 alike.  As is the case with most updates of New Balance models there are sure to be some fans of the 811 that will be sad to see it go, but the integrity of the 811 model has been kept intact. Like its predecessor the 812 is still “Made in the USA”, and still features the popular ROLLBAR for maximum motion control that will keep your feet comfortable whether using as a casual everyday shoe, walking for exercise or spending hours a day on your feet for work.

The Men’s 812 has hit our stores in white and black and is available in widths D, 2E, 4E & 6E. The Women’s 812 has also arrived in white and black and is available in B, D, 2E & 4E width. Additional colors and velcro models will arrive over the next few months, so stay tuned.
